HOFFMAN HOUSE
RUG DESIGN
Rye, NY (1957)
Max Hoffman was a European automobile importer for whom Frank Lloyd Wright designed a home in Rye, as well as a Jaguar dealership in New York City. The Floating, intersecting circles and Taliesin Square logo was the carpet design for the living room of the Hoffman residence. Although this rug was not executed for that home, it was later woven for Wright’s own room at Taliesin in Spring Green, Wisconsin.
