EDGAR KAUFMANN OFFICE MURAL
Pittsburg, PA (1935)
This Product is adapted from the wood mural in Edgar Kaufmann’s office. His son Edgar Kaufmann Jr. introduced Wright to Mr. Kaufmann. The son had read Wright’s “An Autobiography” and was taken by it that he requested admission to the Taliesin Fellowship in 1934. The same year Mr. and Mrs. Kaufmann traveled to Taliesin to visit their son and meet Frank Lloyd Wright. They were impressed by Wright’s home and its relationship to the landscape. Thus began a relationship which fostered one of Wright’s most well known works, Fallingwater” and also resulted in Mr. Kaufmann’s remodeled office, now located in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
